Names and Faces: perhaps the most intuitive event in the entire USA Memory Championship. To be honest, there aren't many innovative techniques to memorize names and faces. Some of the oldest tricks work wonders in this event.
When looking at a person's face, try to find a defining characteristics about them. Maybe it's their hair color or eye color. Maybe it's a birthmark they have, or their dimples when they smile. Associate that characteristic with their name, and repeat it in your brain over and over. Before you know it, you have it memorized!
Outside of the competition, you can use this pretty much every time you meet someone new! Except now, you can associate them with maybe a personality trait as well, or they way they walk or talk. With Names and Faces, association is the key.
